As a Software Engineer, Data Scientist, you will lead research and prototyping activities helping Qlik rethink data analytics at scale, from the underlying data processing techniques, to algorithms and methods related with achieving interactive, smart and exploratory analytics on large-scale data.

In this role, your time will be allocated as follows: 30% scientist, 30% software engineer, and 40% hacker. If you have passion for making software systems smarter with the use of data and Machine Learning algorithms, and improve user experience with smart systems, we want to hear from you!

You will be responsible for conducting research, defining and developing statistical and machine learning algorithms for advanced analysis, prototyping and hacking solutions that would lead creation of smart analytics solutions for Qlik products.

Qualifications include:

  • Master’s Degree in relevant discipline (Data Science, Math, Statistics), preferred;
  • Minimum 4+ years’ experience with various data analysis and visualization tools, experience with data analysis at scale, an asset;
  • Expert experience in machine learning, artificial intelligence and/or artificial neural networks, other data algorithms used in activities like data cleansing, attribute definition, sampling, analytics etc. and their implication of solving different problems;
  • Experience with deep learning technologies, data mining using state-of-the-art methods;
  • Knowledge about Natural language, and vision, speech, processing algorithms, an asset;  
  • Experience with multiple scripting languages and statistical modeling program (Python, Ruby, Spark, Scala, Hive, R, Matlab);
  • Track record of diving into data to discover hidden patterns and of conducting analysis to solve business problems;
  • Experience with open source technologies, a modern web technology stack, and server architecture;
  • Ability to think creatively and solve problems; and
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, including an ability to effectively collaborate with research and technical teams, and earn the trust and influence senior stakeholders.
